Welcome, 2026!
As you may have seen from Gail’s email last week, there have been some changes recently on the Board. I know I speak for all of us when I give heartfelt gratitude to Gail and Nancy for their tenure as President and Treasurer and wish them well in their retirements …but we won’t be letting them disappear easily!
My name is Beckie, and I’m pleased to step in as the Board-appointed President of NEAOHN. I’ve been a nurse since 2011 and have been in Occupational Health Nursing since 2018 with roles in healthcare and manufacturing. I received my COHN-S in 2022 and really got involved in NEAOHN after attending the conference in 2023. Since then, I’ve attended and spoken at additional conferences and was even selected for the Medique Award in 2025, presented at the 2025 AAOHN Conference in Pittsburgh.
As we look forward to the year ahead, we continue our Mission: “We are committed to supporting our members in a way that leverages knowledge, experience, and skills to promote professional and leadership development through education, mentoring, and networking”. My vision is to see increased engagement and opportunities for those in our profession, with short-term goals being growth on our website and social media outlets to better reach our members.
I’m eager to get to know you and work with you. In the coming weeks, you will be seeing more emails going out, such as our call for nominations for all Board positions, a call for nominations for the Medique awards, and information about upcoming educational opportunities.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns!
Beckie
