A Message from the Board

As we venture into the new season and new conversations about best practices for worker health and wellbeing, we are behooved to explore the various avenues for us to stay connected, stay in-the-know, and get involved.

Stay Connected and in-the-know. AAOHN offers several opportunities for us to stay connected and in-the-know.

Did you know:

  • That the 2024 AAOHN conference is going to be virtual? What a wonderful way to expand our reach and connections! This virtual platform is an opportune time to network, meet with experts, and share your own expertise, all the while learning about the latest evidenced-based clinical approaches, guidelines, interventions, and research. The 2024 Virtual National Conference is scheduled for June 5-6, 2024
  • That AAOHN is hosting its annual virtual symposium live on October 4th, 2023? The recordings will be available until November 4th, 2023. You can earn 10 CNE for attending various sessions on advanced practice, case management, total worker health, and clinical occupational nursing.
  • That you have what it takes to become an author and publish your work in the AAOHN’s own Workplace, Health, and Safety (WHS) Journal? WHS publishes the work of our members and beyond. There are my formats under which you can publish your work. For example, you can write a short case study describing a particular issue/phenomenon you have seen with a worker in your clinical practice. You can write a short piece about a new work-related guideline or intervention that you just learned about or implemented in your workplace. You can share the results of your research study or your quality improvement project. You can write about a policy or legal exemplar about worker health and safety. You are the expert and you SHOULD share your knowledge, skills, expertise, and experiences. The journal’s editorial board members are available and willing to brainstorm and coach the writing process. Check out the journal’s website.
