Position: Occupational Health Nurse, Human Resources
Location: Greencastle, PA

The Occupational Health Nurse will manage the medical surveillance, post-injury medical treatment process and return to work program for occupational related matters. Additionally, he/she will work with site leadership to develop and implement safety and health policies and programs including training programs and processes/procedures for the prevention of injuries/illness in the workplace. They will effectively maintain incident report files, incident investigations, corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and other related injuries. This position requires a mutually beneficial flexible schedule for a 2 shift facility. (This is not day-shift only. Working during others shifts as agreed upon will be required).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Trends injury performance and statistics to identify opportunities for improvements
  • In conjunction with the Safety Manager, develops and manages medical surveillance programs including training
  • Maintains effective union and management partnership in medical treatment and return to work
  • Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and administer broad range of tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate and conduct training sessions in a manner understandable to a wide variety of constituencies
  • Teams with department managers and staff to develop proactive solutions and reduce safety and health incident
  • Maintains records, reports, and logs regarding safety incidents
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion in contacts with plant, corporate, union employees and external agencies
  • Assess Injuries
  • Performs Occupational Drug Testing – Post Accident/new hire/reasonable suspicion


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania
  • ABOHN Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) preferred
  • First Aid, AED, CPR Certification
  • 5 years in occupational health – preferably in a union manufacturing environment
  • Skilled in the use of variety of PC software, including Microsoft products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours for the performance of regular duties and to respond to associate health needs
  • Health/Wellness Program implementation a plus
