Summary:  

​​This position will oversee the processes, procedures, and personnel related to the launch and maintenance of the newly established Geriatric Surgery Verification program. This includes the creation and implementation of a new operational model that is scalable and sustainable to support hospitals seeking verified status. With guidance from ACS leadership and surgeon leaders, this position will apply lessons from the other quality programs and work with experts on staff to meet goals and objectives for the program. In addition, this role will create innovative processes while maintaining alignment and standardization with the other quality programs. Responsibilities include oversight of all verification and business operations; support for program committees; high level customer service; staff supervision including recruitment, development, and satisfaction; strategic planning and new product development; creative problem solving; and internal and external communications and marketing. The position will be responsible for ensuring that all programmatic goals are met in a timely manner. 

This Exempt level position will report to the Administrative Director, CQI in the Division of Research & Optimal Patient Care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • ​​Work with senior leadership to identify objectives and priorities for verification, determine product aims and resource needs, and develop strategies to achieve program goals and objectives, including enrollment goals.
  • Develop optimal operational functions, including policies, procedures, and tracking and evaluation systems to ensure timely, efficient, cost-effective, customer-focused administration of the verification program. Consult and collaborate with other quality program managers within ACS as needed.Develop operational budget and related business and marketing plans to support growth and sustainable program.Ensure successful product development, launch, and evaluation. Oversee and direct the implementation of process improvement plans for operations.
  • ​Direct oversight of the program team.Coordinate activities/teams to ensure all work meets the requirements and goals set forth by program leadership and that deliverables are met; collaborate with focus area managers and staff to ensure verification component is aligned and in sync with the data registry component.
  • ​​​Facilitate and guide the activities of the Committees on Geriatric Surgery to further the goals of this program.Engage with other committees and councils at the College to identify opportunities for collaborative work.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with the leadership and members of stakeholder organizations to help guide program development, recognition and sustainability.Grow relationships with affiliated healthcare organizations, insurance payers, and policy makers to improve geriatric surgery outcomes and access to care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years professional work experience in a similar role required.
  • Excellent project management skills and time-management capabilities.
  • Must be a self-starter who sets goals and achieves them with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and advanced computer skills. 
  • Ability to oversee staff and work output in a team environment and willing to contribute wherever needed to ensure team success.
  • Extremely organized, self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams and management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Required to assign work and to complete formal annual performance evaluation of others.

Physical/Work Environment: Fast paced with significant people interaction. No lifting over 20 pounds, minimal reaching bending and stooping. Normal office environment with long hours in front of the computer.

Other Necessary Requirements: Occasional evening or weekend duties may be required. Minimal travel for activities such as out of town meetings is required.
